To all visitors and guests,

Over the next few weeks and months, there is going to be bit of a clean-up of the Searl Solution Chat Forum. There will be new features and chat areas added, and things may move around a bit... but not too much.

This Announcement is regarding the opening of new accounts...

PLEASE READ THESE IMPORTANT GUIDELINES!

When registering your new account, please note ALL OF the following:

(1) USERNAME: Ensure that your username is one that can easily be pronounced, and is a valid word. Invalid usernames, are things like 'tpbh^"*vglf{_tki125' or 'Dinney' or 'qsddfcv' Also ensure that it DOES NOT contain words like 'adult' or 'casino' or anything else that may suggest that it is a spam account. Acceptable usernames are like 'polarbear7' or 'HappyOne' or 'Myfave'.

(2) E-MAIL: While we cannot check the validity of all E-mail addresses, there is currently a block on E-mail addresses that end with '.ru' because of a massive spamming problem. Please ensure that the E-mail that you have supplied is valid, because to activate your account, you will need to receive an activation E-mail, in which there is an account activation key.

(3) PASSWORD: Please make sure that it is one you remember easily, but cannot easily be guessed. A good password should have a combination of letters in both upper case and lower case, and numbers, for example 'Swim2FiSh20036' If you lose your password, we cannot recover it, you will have to click the 'Lost my password' and you will be sent a new password to your E-mail account. This is why it is very important to register with a valid E-mail address!

(4) CONFIRMATION CODE: You see those letters and numbers in the box? Type those in the confirmation box below to confirm that you are an actual person registering an account, and not some automated system that mass-registers new accounts all over the place.

(5) ICQ / AIM / MSN / YAHOO MESSENGERS: If you have any of these, feel free to fill them in. You don't have to, so if you prefer not to, then leave them blank. It should be noted, that if anything invalid and offensive is found in these entry fields, you risk having your account deleted ! This may occur without caution or warning!

(6) WEBSITE: PLEASE DO NOT ENTER ANY WEBSITE IN THIS ENTRY FIELD! We have had problems with people registering accounts solely to advertise inappropriate products and services, by placing a website in this field. It has been decided that, due to the amount of spam registrations, this entry field is to be reserved ONLY for those who have at least five on-topic posts in the Searl Solution Chat Forums. If you register a new account here and place a website into your user account inside this entry field, then you risk having your account deleted without caution or warning! We are trying to eliminate spam accounts, so please help us out, by not entering a website into this entry field. During spam account elimination processes, if we see an account with no posts, and a website link attached, chances are, it will be deleted without checking the content of the user account. Please help to make your account stand out from the rest....Please DON'T enter a website in this entry field!

(7) LOCATION: This MUST be a valid geographical location, if you choose to fill it in. Invalid locations, are things like 'in my car' or 'at my girlfriend's house' or quite simply... 'Mars'. It sounds big, clever and funny, but it isn't, and consequently, any invalid locations entered may risk your account being deleted! Also, please do not enter 'world', you are not everywhere all at once. Again, this would be deemed as an invalid location.

(8 ) OCCUPATION: Please keep this obvious. If you do work as a casino croupier, then great... but entering things like 'casino' or 'PayDayLoan' will be constituted as spam, and you risk having your account deleted. If you're unemployed.... be honest. Alternatively, do what some others do... just leave it blank.

(9) INTERESTS: Okay, this is where you can really slip up! Please keep it clean! Again, entering things that are adult-oriented, or 'PayDayLoan' will risk your account being deleted. If you have an interest in spiders, great! Smile

Place it in if you like, so we know. Maybe one of your interests, is levitating Inverse Gravity Vehicles! If so, place it into this field.... but remember, keep your interests field clean. Unsure whether to enter something? In which case the best thing is to leave it out, or leave this entry field blank.

(10) SIGNATURE: As it says: 'This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make' Entering something here will show up in posts that you make, but remember: Keep it clean! Anything inappropriate, adult-oriented, anything which is deemed as advertising will not be accepted. Also, DO NOT place website links in here, as this will risk your account being deleted!

(11) PREFERENCES: Configure these to how you want. Its up to you.

(12) SUBMIT / RESET : Clicking on 'Submit' will save the information you entered, and an activation E-mail will be sent to your E-mail address. Clicking 'Reset' will reset everything that you have entered to blank again, just like it was before you started.

So what happens next?

Ater submitting your application for a user account, you will receive an E-mail and in that E-mail will be an activation link / key. Click on that link to activate your account. After this, you can log-in and participate in the Searl Solution Chat Forums.

Well, there we are folks, that just about covers it. Smile

I am sorry for rambling on a bit, but there is currently a bit of a problem with rogue spam accounts, and an attempt will be made at removing these.

Please remember though, stick to ALL of the guideline points above, and hopefully, your account will be OK, as the spam account elimination processes start.

We will not be blitzing mass amounts of accounts all at once.... we are careful not to delete legitimate accounts.

Really, the best thing a new participant can do, when applying for a new account, is to stick to the guidelines above, and as soon as you receive your activation E-mail, activate your account, and then log-in and make your first post to the Searl Solution Chat Forums.

When we start seeking and deleting rogue accounts from our database, we will be targeting zero-post accounts that have website links attached to them, so if your account has at least one post, with no website link, then this will make it stand out from the rest, and will help us to not target your account.
